🛡️ Why Steam Needs a “Confirmed Trade” Button – Solving the Item Scam Problem
Steam trades are risky: items move inside Steam, but money moves outside with no protection. Scams are common, and Valve doesn’t step in. A Confirmed Trade button could fix this—requiring 3-way authentication (Steam, Steam Guard, external app) and confirmation from both sides before finalizing. Each trade would generate a receipt, usable as proof. Valve doesn’t need to handle payments—just provide structure to make trades safer and scams harder.
